Wisdom tooth removal

Angled or impacted wisdom teeth can cause pain, swelling and problems for the neighbouring teeth. The dentist takes X-rays to assess the tooth and advises when it should come out.

Free examination and consultationThe dentist recommends a treatment plan tailored to you.
The basics

What are wisdom teeth and why are they often removed?

Wisdom teeth are the third molars at the very back of the mouth, usually coming through in adulthood. Because there is often not enough room, they tend to grow at an angle or stay impacted.

01

Upright

Enough room and easy to clean: may not need removing, just monitoring.

02

Angled

Tilts into the neighbouring tooth, traps food and can cause decay and gum inflammation.

03

Impacted

Stays under the gum or in the bone and needs an X-ray to assess.

Who it suits

When should a wisdom tooth be removed?

  • Recurring pain or swelling of the gum around the wisdom tooth.
  • The wisdom tooth is angled and pushing into the neighbouring tooth.
  • Food often gets trapped, causing bad breath or decay in the next tooth.
  • The X-ray shows a risk of complications, or removal is needed before braces.

Not every wisdom tooth needs removing. The dentist will take an X-ray and advise based on the tooth’s position, your gums and your health.

Benefits

Why deal with wisdom teeth early?

01

Relief from recurring pain

Removes the cause of gum inflammation around the wisdom tooth.

02

Protects the next tooth

Stops the wisdom tooth pushing on or causing decay in the second molar.

03

Easier cleaning

Less trapped food and bad breath.

04

Gentle, with follow-up

Local anaesthetic and careful aftercare guidance.

Process

What happens during wisdom tooth removal?

The dentist takes an X-ray and explains how complex the case is and the cost before removal.

  1. 01

    Exam & X-ray

Assessing the wisdom tooth’s position and its relation to nearby teeth and nerves.

    Advice & booking

If there is active inflammation, it is treated first before removal is scheduled.

  3. 03

    Anaesthetic & minor surgery

Under local anaesthetic, the tooth is removed gently and stitched if needed.

  4. 04

    Aftercare guidance

Home care instructions and medicine if needed.

  5. 05

    Check-up

The wound is checked and stitches removed (if any).

Your plan

Your personal wisdom tooth plan

The dentist will examine you in person, then recommend a treatment plan and costs that suit you.

  1. 01

    Quick online advice

Message us on WhatsApp or Zalo, or book online. We’ll reply and arrange a convenient time for your visit.

  2. 02

    Free examination and consultation

At the clinic, your dentist examines you, recommends a treatment plan and explains the costs.

Your plan depends on

  • The position and angle of the wisdom tooth.
  • How complex the removal is (angled, impacted).
  • How many teeth are removed in one visit.

Quality comes first

  • A dentist examines you personally and explains your situation.
  • Your treatment plan and costs are explained before treatment starts, so you can make an informed decision.
  • No extra charges without discussing them with you first.

The examination and consultation are free (X-rays not included). If an X-ray is needed, the dentist explains why before taking it.

Aftercare

Aftercare for wisdom tooth removal

Following the instructions helps reduce pain and swelling and speeds healing.

  • Bite firmly on the gauze for as long as the dentist advises to stop bleeding.
  • Use a cold compress on the cheek on the first day to reduce swelling.
  • Eat soft, cool food and avoid chewing on the treated side.
  • On the first day, don’t rinse hard, spit or use a straw.
  • Avoid smoking and alcohol; take medicine as prescribed.
  • Contact the clinic if bleeding is heavy, you have a fever or pain gets worse after a few days.

Ask on Zalo
Does wisdom tooth removal hurt?

The dentist uses local anaesthetic, so you should feel very little during the procedure. You may have pain and swelling for a few days afterwards; the dentist will prescribe medicine and explain aftercare.

How long does it take to heal?

It depends on how complex the removal was and on each person. Swelling usually eases after a few days. Your dentist will explain what to expect and when to come back for a check-up.

Does an upright wisdom tooth need removing?

Not necessarily. If it is upright, has enough room and can be cleaned, the dentist may just monitor it.

What should I eat afterwards?

Soft, cool food such as porridge, soup and yoghurt for the first few days; avoid hard, spicy or hot food.

Can two wisdom teeth be removed at once?

It depends on their position and your health. The dentist will advise whether to remove them together or in separate visits.

Do I need time off work?

Many people rest for 1-2 days, especially after angled or impacted teeth. The dentist will advise based on your case.

How much does wisdom tooth removal cost?

You will receive a free examination and consultation at the clinic, where the dentist recommends a treatment plan and costs that suit your teeth. Message us on WhatsApp or Zalo for quick advice or to book a visit. X-rays, if needed, are not included in the free consultation; the dentist explains this before taking them.
