Porcelain crowns & veneers

Porcelain crowns and veneers improve the colour, shape and evenness of your teeth. The dentist examines you, recommends the right option and only prepares the teeth as much as needed.

The basics

Crowns vs veneers: what’s the difference?

Both use porcelain to restore the look of your teeth, but they differ in how much of the tooth is prepared and when they are used.

01

Porcelain crown

Covers the whole tooth and suits heavily broken teeth, root-canal-treated teeth or severe discolouration.

02

Porcelain veneer

A thin layer of porcelain bonded to the front of the tooth, usually needing less preparation than a crown.

03

Porcelain types

Porcelains differ in translucency, strength and cost. The dentist advises based on the tooth’s position.

Emax overlaysFor a large broken tooth, a bonded porcelain overlay can sometimes be used instead of a full crown. It keeps more of your natural tooth. Your dentist will advise after the exam.
Who it suits

When should you consider porcelain?

  • Teeth are dull or stained and whitening doesn’t help.
  • Teeth are gapped, chipped, broken or uneven in shape.
  • A root-canal-treated tooth needs protection from cracking.
  • You want to improve your overall smile so it suits your face.
  • Old crowns that have come loose, chipped or failed, including work done elsewhere.

Crowns and veneers require removing some tooth enamel and cannot be undone. The dentist will examine you and explain all options, including less invasive ones such as whitening or braces.

Benefits

What porcelain can do for you

01

Even, natural colour

The porcelain shade is chosen to match your skin tone and other teeth.

02

Better shape

Corrects gaps, chips and uneven sizes.

03

Protects weak teeth

A crown covers and protects a root-canal-treated or broken tooth.

04

Designed for you

Tooth shape and shade are planned around your face and smile.

    Quick online advice

Message us on WhatsApp or Zalo, or book online. We’ll reply and arrange a convenient time for your visit.

  2. 02

    Free examination and consultation

At the clinic, your dentist examines you, recommends a treatment plan and explains the costs.

Your plan depends on

  • How many teeth are treated.
  • The type of porcelain you choose (translucency, strength).
  • Your teeth: whether root canal or other preparatory treatment is needed.

Quality comes first

  • A dentist examines you personally and explains your situation.
  • Your treatment plan and costs are explained before treatment starts, so you can make an informed decision.
  • No extra charges without discussing them with you first.

The examination and consultation are free (X-rays not included). If an X-ray is needed, the dentist explains why before taking it.

Aftercare

Caring for porcelain teeth

Good care keeps porcelain looking great and your gums healthy.

  • Avoid biting hard things such as ice, bones or bottle caps.
  • Brush twice a day and use floss or a water flosser to clean along the gumline.
  • Porcelain resists staining, but keep cleaning well so the gums and natural teeth around it stay healthy.
  • If you grind your teeth at night, ask the dentist about a night guard.
  • Come for regular check-ups so the porcelain and gums can be checked.
  • Contact the clinic if sensitivity lasts or the porcelain feels loose or chipped.

Reviews from porcelain patients

★★★★★

My wife and I went here on the recommendation of her sister and we are glad we did! I got a teeth cleaning and a crown on my two front teeth and a filling. My wife got a cleaning, a whitening, and a bite guard. You can tell they care a lot about your comfort. The dental with was excellent and very affordable. They contacted us the day after to make sure everything was good and we had a follow up visit two days later just to check up on us. It was definitely a great experience and I highly recommend them! Very professional!

Porcelain crown & veneer questions

Can’t find your answer? Message us on WhatsApp or Zalo.

Ask on Zalo
Do porcelain crowns hurt?

The dentist uses local anaesthetic while preparing the teeth, so you should feel very little. The teeth may feel slightly sensitive for a few days afterwards.

How long does porcelain last?

It depends on the porcelain type, your teeth and how you care for them. Good cleaning and regular check-ups help it last.

Is preparing the teeth harmful?

Porcelain work requires removing some enamel and cannot be undone. The dentist will keep preparation to the minimum needed and suggest less invasive options where suitable.

Should I choose a crown or a veneer?

It depends on your teeth: veneers suit mildly damaged teeth, crowns suit heavily broken or root-canal-treated teeth. The dentist will examine you and advise.

How long does it take?

It may take longer if preparatory treatment is needed first. After the examination, the dentist will give you a specific timeline and treatment plan.

How much do porcelain crowns or veneers cost?

You will receive a free examination and consultation at the clinic, where the dentist recommends a treatment plan and costs that suit your teeth. Message us on WhatsApp or Zalo for quick advice or to book a visit. X-rays, if needed, are not included in the free consultation; the dentist explains this before taking them.
